Emergency First Aid for Drivers (CPC)

RQF Level 3 Award  

This qualification provides 7 hours of first aid CPC training for those working in the driving industry.

The aim of the course is to provide drivers with the knowledge and skills to undertake the role of an emergency first aider in the driving and low risk work environment.

Professional drivers are required to undertake 35 hours of training in every 5 year period and drivers can be fined up to £1,000 for driving professionally without Driver CPC. The gov.uk website contains further information about CPC training when it must be carried out.

In addition to complying with CPC regulations we can also provide an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate that meets the requirements of the HSE First Aid Regulations for the workplace.*


A minimum of 7 hours consisting of theoretical and practical activities.

Drivers (CPC) First Aid Syllabus

A range of subjects is covered including:-

  • Responsibilities
  • Resuscitation
  • Assessing situations
  • Choking
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Bleeding control
  • Shock
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
  • Minor injuries

First Aid Certification

Driver (CPC) First Aid has no formal assessment.

*Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate is issued based on ongoing assessment by the instructor plus the succesfule compleetion of a multi choice question paper by the student.

The EFAW cerificate lasts for 3-year and qualification will be issued to those who meet the criteria.


A maximum of 12 students are allowed and must be aged a minimum of 16 years or above. Bigger groups can be catered for, but the ratio must not exceed 12 students per instructor.


£85 per person without Emergency first aid at work certification

£100 per person with Emergency first aid at work certification
