Two-Day First Aid at Work Re-qualification – Qualification Level

It is a requirement of the Health & Safety law that employers provide a safe and healthy environment to work in.
The first aid at work re-qualification course gives the participants a qualification to the highest level of First Aid, meeting the statutory requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.
If your assessment of First Aid needs highlights the need to maintain the qualification of your First Aiders, then this course will provide you with that. This comprehensive 2-day first aid at work re-qualification course covers a wide range of First Aid emergencies, enabling all participants to deal with an emergency situation with confidence in a prompt, safe and effective way. In addition to this, should there have been any change to protocols during their initial qualification, then this will be updated.
Duration
A minimum of 12 hours spread over at least 2 days. Ideally, the course should be run over 2 consecutive days, but we have the flexibility to accommodate your specific needs if you so desire.
Two-Day First Aid at Work Re-qualification – Syllabus
A range of subjects is covered including:-
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Resuscitation
- Choking
- Assessment of the situation
- Use of AED
- Bandaging
- Shock
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Eye injuries
- Fractures
- Control of bleeding
- Poisoning
- Strains
- Head injuries
- Sprains
- Burns
- Control of bleeding
- Catastrophic bleeding (optional)
Certification
Assessment is ongoing by the instructor along with a question paper on each day.
Subject to assessment, all participants will be issued a First Aid at Work certificate for a further 3 years.
Numbers
A maximum of 12 students can be accommodated on this course. Each participant must have a valid First Aid at Work qualification.
